Social Networking

I intend to use social networking similar to the way I will implement iTunes. I have set up a facebook account dedicated to my classroom activity and will not add my my students to my personal pages. My twitter account will also be available for students to view. Social networking sites can be beneficial only we use them with a watchful eye.

Podcasting

I intend to use iTunes in the classroom in numerous ways. Most of the students of today have iPods or other digital media players. I intend to record lectures, homework assignments, and have the students broadcast their own podcasts. This inspires creativity and will help the student have a reference point if they forgot some notes or were sick on a particular day.

Life Experience

I have seen things in my life (good, bad, and otherwise) that I believe students in high school could benefit from. As I said in my teaching philosophy, I think the student will only learn from someone they respect. I understand where they are coming from when they lament about boring teachers, and I empathize with the feeling that no one understands them. My point is that I believe I have a calling to teach the kids that people overlook because they seem to just not want to try or care. I was one of those kids and it took too long for me to come around. I don't want that for these students. Nothing shocks me.

Interactive Presentaions

I intend to use interactive Presentaions made with programs and services like GoogleDocs and PowerPoint.

My Personal Learning Network

I plan to use my PLN to help my classroom's progress. Here are some of the tools and people in this network.

Twitter

Delicious

Blog

And the list goes on and on. I will use personal contacts I have acquired throughout the field of education and a few that are not directly involved with education, but have some relevance to the classroom and aiding lessons.
